The Pool in the Park Woking - Located in the heart of Woking Park, the Pool in the Park is a purpose built swimming complex. It boasts three swimming pools, the one to three metre deep Competition Pool, opened in 1989, which is 13 metres wide and 25 metres long and has 6 swim lanes; a 0.8 metre to 1.0 metre deep Teaching Pool which is 8 metres wide and 16 metres long and the Leisure Lagoon which boasts three water slides with a choice of speeds (Fast, Medium and Slow) and other attractions including a "mushroom" water fountain, a lazy river ride, a wave machine, water cannons. The external design of the Pool in the Park is thought to be based on a Roman Coliseum. The Pool in the Park offers a broad variety of activities including children's activities and parties, adults and ladies only sessions, aqua fitness classes, toddler splash sessions, a comprehensive swim school programme and is the headquarters of some local clubs such as Woking Lifesaving Club, Woking Snorkelling, Woking Snorkel and Scuba, Surrey Aquanauts and Woking Swimming Club.
Woking Revealed - A large town located in the UK county of Surrey, Woking has a population of around 62,796, and is handily placed just 23 miles from central London, within the busy commuter belt of the City. The neighborhood was certainly settled during the time of the Saxons, though its history may perhaps stretch back a lot further.
The area that was the first settlement is presently called Old Woking, whilst the more recent modern town lies in the vicinity of the train station and the banks of the Basingstoke Canal. Woking boasts lots of quality facilities that can be enjoyed by its inhabitants and visitors alike, among the most well known being Woking Market, the "Pool in the Park" swimming complex, the large Peacocks Shopping Centre, Wolsey Place Shopping Centre, and Woking Leisure Centre.
Woking has good rail and road links with London and also (via the M3 and A3) with the South-West. Woking centre stands where the A320 meets the A324.
